Akkermansia muciniphila boost

Metabolic activity and proliferation increase

An experiment was conducted to assess the boosting capacity of Gut3Beads in a planktonic culture of Akkermansia muciniphila in standard 104 medium with mucin addition. The culture was supplemented with beads at timepoint 0 h and then with both beads and fresh media at timepoint 198 h.

After 48 h the metabolic activity of the planktonic culture starts to decrease while it is sustained at a baseline level in the beads, and after the increase of new beads at 198 h it will start to grow back. This is verified by the fact that with the beads addition there is a steep increase in DNA concentration derived from the proliferation of Akkermansia
